We were sub-contracted to the Dragados/Sisk JV. The project involved the Fabrication and installation of Structural Steelwork and access metalwork at the temporary barge berthing and loading facility at Instone Wharf in London. Structural support steel was site welded to steel piles located in tidal water to accommodate a 200 metre long A100 rail track and cantilevered access walkway. The purpose of this structure and rail was to support a large rail mounted conveyor system which was capable of loading 2 x 85m long barges at the berth with the excavated spoil from the Limmo Crossrail Eastern tunnel boring process. We also fabricated and installed harbour ladders and boat fenders.
